Review

LOVE AND PEACE is obviously no replacement for seeing Burning Spear live. The former Winston Rodney's live performances are justifiably legendary, and the sight of the man spinning dervish-like around the stage, arms outstretched and yard-long dreadlocks flying, as he chants, moans, wails, and declaims his passionate, thoughtful lyrics, is one no true reggae fan should ever miss. However, LOVE AND PEACE comes closer to capturing the pure excitement and gospel-like devotion of a Burning Spear gig than most live albums.
